How to Bluff and Win at Omaha Poker
Omaha poker is a very exciting game, where we
can’t possibly talk about boredom. Each game is different, mostly because It can
be played both in a high or low variation. This means that the strongest and the
weakest hands split the pot. The worst thing that can happen to you is having an
eight or a lower card included among the other 4 hole cards because it hinders
you from qualifying for a low hand.
From the two ways of winning at
Omaha poker it’s best to go for the high part of the pot. So, after the
flop, if you’re not very certain that your hands will qualify as a high hand and
split the pot with another player’s lowest hand, it’s best to quit early and
fold or check.
When you’re the last to bet, you may play a few weaker hands provided that the
bet hasn’t been raised. In many cases the flop will turn out to be lucky for
you.
The first step you need to make in order to win is decide which hands are worth
playing as early in the game as possible. It’s best to avoid cards like 8s or 9s
high, as they are not as good as they are in Texas Hold’em, not even close. Your
aim in Omaha poker is not to qualify only for the high or for the low, but for
both.
Pay attention to flops that are very close to turning into straights or flushes
as these might beat your strong hands. This is why you need to be very choosy
about your cards. In general, it’s recommended that, in order to qualify for a
low hand, you play consisting of aces in combinations with 2s and 3s and 3-2s.
Don’t play numerous starting hands and play more insistently after you hit a
good flop.
Observing your opponents is the best part of a strategy. Only by studying their
moves and their strategy can you know what decisions to make when your turn
comes. You will learn that their behavior and their gestures often disclose
useful information about the hands they’re playing and about whether they bluff

They won’t be able to tell when you’re bluffing and when you’re not, and you’ll
win more often.
Bluffing is indeed dangerous, but if you get to master it, than its profitable
side counts more than the risks it involves.
